Abstract

In this paper, an automated system was developed to replace a legacy manual process. This system is capable of performing labeling, inspection, and evaluation of printed circuit boards using robotic systems and artificial intelligence, while also storing the collected information in a database. The implementation of this system’s results was developed through observations in a laboratory setting and simulations using a new system design approach based on Petri nets, the MOST method and the ARENA simulation, which improves the times and motions executed by the robotic arm. Thus, the deployment of the automated process allowed for achieving high performance of operation time, robustness, and precision.
