Abstract

This paper presents the development of a photovoltaic system that, in addition to generating active power, is capable of compensating the reactive power at the point of common coupling (PCC). The system consists of photovoltaic modules, a dc-dc converter, a three-phase inverter and an output L filter. The output filter dimensioning and the controller design with the aid of the dq0 transformation are presented. The system was validated through computer simulations in PSIM software. The simulations showed that the system is capable of performing active power transfer and reactive compensation, injecting current with low harmonic content into the PCC.
